The necklace includes an original piece of vintage glass (sea glass) making this a lovely piece of vintage jewellery. It has a pretty angel wing charm that sits nicely to the side of the sea glass. It has an 18″ Silver plated snake chain, lobster clasp, 1.2mm thick and pretty bail to clasp the sea glass.
Sea glass was once a container or a glass object used by people in our society, many years ago, that has been discarded. Thrown into the sea, the glass object starts on its slow journey, being processed, smoothed refined and softened by the movements of the sea. As it drifts through the ocean currents the glass has a renewal of life and is transformed into Sea Glass. This natural process takes 20 to 50 years. Many people equate this process with the process of personal growth, which also takes time as we are smoothed, refined, softened, and transformed by time and experience over our lifetime. Sea Glass is a metaphor for life and is symbolic of healing and renewal of life. It holds a personal story of transformation and personal growth. “It is said that sea glass carries the energy of all who have touched it and that it can help to soothe and calm the soul. if you are ill or struggling with negative emotions, sea glass can help alleviate some of the pain you are experiencing.”
The tide, the sun and the moon charge the sea glass. washed upon the shore and waiting to be discovered, like a gift from the universe. a pure, magical sea glass gem, charged with spiritual healing of the ocean. and so this feeling of calmness, of peace and tranquility is evoked every time you wear your beautiful sea glass jewellery. It is turned into a natural stone through a natural process and I have recycled the Sea Glass into beautiful piece of up-cycled jewellery.
Each piece of glass is handpicked by myself and my family, from the beaches on the Isle of Wight. At home, I wash and oil the Sea glass before hand drilling each piece. Each piece of Sea glass that washes up on the seashore is unique! Therefore, I can create special recycled jewellery, that is friendly towards our environment. Cleaning the Isle of wight beaches one piece of sea glass at a time! This necklace will be a treasured gift.
